General Terms and Conditions for the International Symposium on Sensorimotor Transformation (ISST 2026)

Registration:

Registration for the International Symposium on Sensorimotor Transformation (ISST) is available exclusively online. The participation fee is charged per person and can be paid by bank transfer, credit card, or via Apple Pay/Google Pay. The following prices (exempt from VAT) apply:

  • Regular price: €180
  • Reduced price: €120 (for students and PhD candidates)

Cancellation by the organizer:

The University of Freiburg reserves the right to cancel the event for reasons beyond its control, e.g. due to insufficient demand or a low number of participants, or for other important reasons for which the University is not responsible (e.g. sudden illness of the majority of speakers with no possibility of replacement, force majeure). You will be notified of this immediately via the contact details provided in your registration. In the event of cancellation, any participation fee already paid will be refunded. Further claims for liability and damages, which do not relate to injury to life, limb or health, are excluded, unless there is intent or gross negligence on the part of the University of Freiburg.

Services provided by the organizer:

Once payment has been received, registration entitles you to attend the following events as part of the International Symposium on Sensorimotor Transformation:

  • Talks and lectures on both days
  • All poster sessions on both days
  • Chimney Talk – Summer Edition on the first day
  • Coffee breaks on both days
  • Snacks during lunch breaks on both days

Cancellations:

Cancellations are possible; however, depending on when the cancellation is made, only a reduced conference fee may be refunded:

  • Up to 31 August 2026, 100% of the conference fee may be refunded.
  • From 1 September to 29 September 2026, 75% of the conference fee may be refunded.
  • After 30 September, the conference fee is non-refundable.

Disclaimer:

We accept no liability for damage that cannot be proven to have been caused culpably by us as the conference organiser or by our employees. We also accept no liability for the cloakroom.

Contractual and non-contractual liability is limited to cases of intent and gross negligence, unless the matter concerns a breach of a material contractual obligation or injury to life, limb or health. The same applies to the liability of legal representatives or vicarious agents. For damages arising from the breach of an essential contractual obligation, liability is limited to compensation for the foreseeable, typically occurring damage.

To ensure that conference participants have a pleasant stay in addition to the scientific program, we are keen to accommodate special requests within the scope of our capabilities; however, we cannot guarantee this. The catering included in the price takes various dietary habits into account; however, this does not entitle participants to individually tailored meals.

To facilitate better planning, we recommend that you inform us of any allergies or other intolerances when registering.

Photos

Please note that photographs and video recordings will be taken during the event. These will be published for public relations purposes on websites, social media channels, in press releases and in BrainLinks-BrainTools printed materials.

By participating in ISST 2026, you consent to photographs being taken of you at the event and published. We will not publish any photographs in which, in our view, a person is depicted in an unflattering manner or in an inappropriate situation.
