Dr. Frauke Bunzel

Dr. Frauke Bunzel studied chemistry at the University of Braunschweig. She was employed as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer WKI since 2008 and dealt with fire protection coatings, wood-polymer-composite (WPC), chemical wood modification and formaldehyde-free resins. She gained experience in the field of adhesive technology as a research assistant at the TU Braunschweig (IFS) from 2013 to 2015. Since December 2018 she is head of the department of surface technology at the WKI.

Dr. Marthe-Louise Fehse studied law in Münster and Athens. After her studies she worked as a research assistant in a law firm specialising in construction law. She completed her legal clerkship in Berlin, including a period at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Construction and Nuclear Safety. She received her doctorate on the EU Construction Products Regulation in 2017. Today, she works as a lawyer and advises in particular on construction and product law issues.

In 2014, Mr. Kamm assumed full responsibility for the development of the "Recycling" segment. Dr. Torsten Kolb

Dr. Torsten Kolb studied chemistry at the University of Braunschweig. Since 2013 he is employed as a researcher at the Fraunhofer WKI. His work focuses on fire protection of different materials. Examples of his research are the developing of non burning materials, intumescent coatings,  hardly inflammable wood-polymer-composites or wood fiber insulation boards which does not have any glowing combustion.

Dr.-Ing. Johannes Lottermann

Johannes has spent most of his life studying, researching and developing new concepts and approaches to combustible dust explosion protection.  In addition to his doctoral thesis, "Approaches to Integrated Fire and Explosion Safety…", Johannes has worked for notified bodies charged with certifying compliance with ATEX certifying requirements in Europe, governmental regulatory bodies equivalent to OSHA, standards associations equivalent to NFPA,  as well as conducting risk analyses in manufacturing facilities. As Chief Business Development Officer Explosion Safety, Johannes spends most of his time on the road, visiting manufacturing facilities, evaluating their risks and recommending solutions to best protect against the potentially catastrophic consequences of combustible dust explosions.

After two years working as a teacher at vocational schools, he started his Ph.D program at the Center for Wood Science of Hamburg University (2009) and finished on 2013. Then, he acted as a R&D researcher in Swiss Krono Group. He also started his position as an assistant professor in the Department of Wood Science and Technology at Tarbiat Modares University (Iran). His research area are lightweight wood-based composites and development of formaldehyde-free adhesive for wood composites.

Carola Tretner studied chemistry and took a doctoral degree at the University of Halle. Joining ROMONTA in 2008 her main subjects are the development of model waxes for the investment casting industry, implementing the REACH regulations, project management and application technology advice to customers of special waxes. In 2013 she has become the group leader “Application Technology / Product Development” and is involved in the development of concepts for new and innovative products based on waxes.
