We describe the fundamentals of the DPP technology and focus unique process advantage over etching, namely the adjustment of the depth-of-cut in the milling process. By cutting deeper or shallower into the flex PCB foil, the milled pattern can be modified by up to 100 µm in line width. Control systems keep the process precisely at the selected level within an extremely precise 100 nm accuracy.
