Conditions of Participation of polymertec24
- Organiser and Venue
The international scientific conference "polymertec24" is organised by Merseburg University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the Institut für Polymerwerkstoffe e.V. (affiliated institute of Merseburg University of Applied Sciences), hereinafter referred to as the "Organiser". The conference will take place from 19.06.2024 to 20.06.2024 as an attendance conference in Merseburg. Participation in the event is subject exclusively to these conditions of participation in the version valid at the time of registration.
- Registration
Registration for the conference is only possible electronically via the homepage www.polymertec.de. By registering, you submit a binding offer to participate in the event and accept these conditions of participation. Once your registration has been processed, you will receive a confirmation and an invoice. The registration is then considered legally binding. Registration and payment for the event are processed using the Converia GmbH event software.
- Registration Deadline
Registration as a participant with a presentation and the registration of a poster are possible until 31.03.2024. For other participants, registration is possible until the start of the event. The editorial deadline for inclusion in the list of participants is 2 weeks before the start of the event.
- Service and Conference Fee
The conference fee is per person. The participation fees valid at the time of registration apply, as shown on the homepage.
Participating in the conference and evening event is only possible after payment of the conference fee and the participation fee for the evening event.
Unless otherwise stated, the services offered include participation in the conference.
The organiser reserves the right to make changes to the programme while maintaining the overall character of the event.
- Payments and Invoices
Unless explicitly agreed otherwise, the participation fee is due immediately upon invoicing by the Institut für Polymerwerkstoffe e.V. (IPW) and must be paid by the participant or their organisation.
- Cancellations
Cancellations are possible in electronic form via e-mail. Please send your cancellation via e-mail to info@ipw-merseburg.de.
For cancellations up to 31.03.2024, a cancellation fee of 50.00 Euro will be charged. Cancellations from 01.04.2024 up to 04.06.2024 will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the invoice amount. From 05.06.2024 a cancellation free of charge is no longer possible.
- Cancellation of the Event
The organiser is entitled to cancel the event for reasons for which he is not responsible if the purpose of the event cannot be achieved or if there are other obstacles.
If the event is cancelled, the fees paid will be refunded in full. Further recourse claims against the organiser are excluded. This also applies to hotel costs or other expenses incurring in connection with the conference.
- Change of Participants
We are happy to accept a substitute participant nominated by you. The nomination of a substitute participant must be made via e-mail to info@ipw-merseburg.de and is free of charge.
- Data Privacy Protection
Merseburg University of Applied Sciences processes your personal data for the purpose of organising and holding the event. Further information on data protection can be found in our privacy policy. We use the external service provider Converia GmbH for the technical realisation of data processing. Personal data is collected for the purpose of registration for the event. Converia GmbH collects this data on behalf of Merseburg University of Applied Sciences as a contractor. To ensure compliance with data protection requirements in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, Merseburg University of Applied Sciences has concluded an order processing contract with Converia GmbH, which ensures that the personal data is also processed by our contractor in accordance with data protection regulations. - Liability
The organiser shall be liable in cases of intent or gross negligence in accordance with the statutory provisions. The organiser shall only be liable for slight negligence in accordance with the provisions of the Product Liability Act, for injury to life, limb or health or for breach of material contractual obligations. However, the claim for damages for the slightly negligent breach of essential contractual obligations is limited to the foreseeable da-mage typical for the contract, unless liability is based on injury to life, limb or health. The organiser shall be liable to the same extent for the culpability of vicarious agents and representatives.
The provision of the preceding paragraph extends to compensation for damages in addition to performance, compensation for damages instead of performance and claims for compensation for futile expenditure, irrespective of the legal grounds, including liability for defects, delay or impossibility.
- Ownership of Rights
Participants are not entitled to the release or sending of working documents or presentations.
If materials are made available by the organiser or the speakers - in whatever form - the copyright protection of the author remains unaffected. The materials provided may only be used by the participants for their own purposes in accordance with the provisions of copyright law. Any act of reproduction or dissemination or making available to the public is not permitted without the express prior written consent of the organiser and the copy-right holder.
Photography and filming of copyrighted works is not permitted during the event.
- Final Provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply to the contractual relationship between the organiser and the participant. The contractual language is German, even if the event is partly held in English.
Should one of the provisions of these Conditions of Participation be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by an appropriate and permissible provision corresponding to the meaning and purpose of these Terms and Conditions of Participation.
The place of fulfilment for all mutual claims is Merseburg.
