Überblick und Zusammenfassungen:
Linux containers (e.g., Docker, Podman, LXC) have become widely used in the software industry, even in embedded software systems, but they are often applied with little knowledge of the underlying technologies. This workshop aims to provide a basic understanding of those technologies, in particular: capabilities, namespaces, cgroups (control groups) and (time permitting) seccomp (Secure Computing). Through a combination of presentations, live demos, and short practical sessions, we will see how these technologies are used to provide process and application isolation in Linux containers and sandboxes.

Nutzen:
Participants will gain a basic understanding of the technologies used to implement Linux containers and sandboxes, and some understanding of how to debug the operation of containers and sandboxes when they go wrong.
