Funding Opportunities of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation
Damian Grasmück will give a presentation introducing the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and its work as a science funding agency. In doing so, especially the Research Award Programmes will be emphasized as they facilitate the cooperation between top-notch academics from abroad with those from Germany. This presentation is addressed above all to economists from Germany who might consider nominating a colleague from abroad for a Humboldt Research Award or even an Alexander von Humboldt Professorship, thus strengthening their international cooperation.
Afterwards, there will be the opportunity for individual consultation, including coffee and croissants.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation promotes international academic cooperation by granting fellowships and awards to scientists and scholars from abroad. These allow researchers of all career stages to come to Germany and work on a research question they have chosen themselves together with a host and collaborative partner.
The Humboldt Foundation’s Research Awards are granted to researchers whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in the future. They are valued at up to 60,000 EUR each. Researchers from abroad, regardless of their discipline or nationality, may be nominated by an established academic from Germany The award winners are invited to spend a period of up to one year cooperating on a long-term research project with specialist colleagues at a research institution in Germany.
