Remote Participation (membership optional)
Registration and conference fee payment is required for presenters and non-presenters. Membership in either the Science Fiction Research Association or the Gesellschaft für Fantastikforschung is encouraged but optional. Students, PhD students, and participants without institutional funding are eligible for a student discount. Participants with permanent positions and/or institutional funding are asked to choose one of the "regular" options. The conference fees are exclusively used to help cover the costs for conference infrastructure, lunch and coffee breaks.
SFRA Membership Option
SFRA members will need to make sure to renew their memberships or join the organization when they register for the conference. Conference attendees who choose to join the SFRA alongside registering for the conference receive the following: discounted conference registration fees, subscriptions to leading sf journals Science Fiction Studies and Extrapolation with the option to add on other journals at discounted rates, and access to vote in all SFRA elections, among other benefits. GFF Membership Option
Conference attendees who choose to join the GfF alongside registering for the conference receive the following: discounted conference registration fees and access to vote in all GfF elections. The GfF’s peer reviewed journal Zeitschrift für Fantastikforschung is published open access with the Open Library of the Humanities.
