- General information
- These General Terms and Conditions (“GTC”) apply to participation in and the associated sale of tickets for the European Conference on Data Analysis 2026, organised by the hosting university, Stralsund University of Applied Sciences (HOST), and the hosting member society, Gesellschaft für Klassifikation – Data Science Society (GfKl). Any terms and conditions of the participant that differ from these shall not apply.
- The organiser reserves the right to amend or supplement these regulations. Any amendments or additions shall come into effect upon publication on this website.
- This offer is intended exclusively for adults.
- Registration and conclusion of the contract
- Registration for the event is only possible via the conference management and ticketing platform Converia provided by the ticketing partner Converia GmbH.
- By providing the information on the website, the organiser is making an offer to enter into a contract of sale. The participant accepts their offer to enter into a contract of sale by completing the ordering process in full and clicking on the “Complete registration” button on the final order page. For the participant’s acceptance of the offer to be valid, the participant must have completed all the required fields in the order form (each marked with an ‘*’) and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
- The contract governing participation in the event shall only come into effect once the ticketing partner has confirmed the participants’ registration in writing by email. Any amendments and/or additions to the contract must be made in writing. This also applies to the waiver of the written form requirement.
- The number of participants may be limited, or attendance may be by invitation only. Registrations will be processed in the order in which payment is received. Should you be unable to attend due to the event being fully booked, you will be notified immediately.
- Prices
- The price stated on the certificate of participation is the final price and is binding on the participant.
- All prices include the applicable VAT where required. No additional delivery and/or postage charges will be incurred unless they are shown separately.
- The fees due, which are listed on page Registration and fees, are calculated on the basis of the category to which you belong and the date of registration.
- Where special prices are offered for concessions, these are also shown separately. If no concessions are shown, they cannot be granted. Proof of eligibility for the concession must be provided before the event begins. If proof cannot be provided, the participant must pay the difference between the full price and the concessionary price at the start of the event in order to be admitted.
- Payment
- The following payment options are available:
- Payment by bank transfer
- Payment by credit card (Visa/MasterCard)
- Payment via Apple Pay & Google Pay
- Where additional charges apply in relation to the payment options, these are shown separately. All prices and charges are payable within 14 days of registration.
- If payment is not received within 14 days, the organiser may withdraw from the contract. If the organiser withdraws from the contract, the participant thereby forfeits their right to take part in the event. Any charges incurred as a result of the bank transfer shall be borne by the participant.
- Payment is to be made via secupay AG; you will find the bank details on your invoice. Please note the following when specifying the payment reference: The payment reference (TA number) and amount must exactly match this invoice. Otherwise, the payment cannot be matched and the invoice will remain open.
- When paying by credit card (MasterCard, Visa), participants will be asked to enter their credit card details during the payment process. The associated credit card account will subsequently be charged the ticket price, including any delivery costs. Please note that the following description will appear on your credit card statement:
de/ticketing - Should a payment be reversed (e.g. due to insufficient funds in the account specified at the time of ordering), the participant shall be liable to compensate for any loss or expense arising from the reversal. In the event of an unjustified credit card chargeback, a processing fee of 60.00 euros will be charged. In the event of a chargeback, the organiser is entitled to withdraw from the contract with immediate effect. The participant thereby forfeits their right to take part in the booked event. This does not affect any further claims the organiser may have against the participant.
- The following payment options are available:
- Right of withdrawal
- Cancellation Policy
++++++++++++++++++
Right of withdrawal
If the participant is a consumer within the meaning of Section 13 of the German Civil Code (BGB), they may withdraw from the contract in writing (e.g. by letter or email) within 14 days without giving any reason. To do so, they may send an email quoting the ticket ID. Participants should use the following contact details for this purpose:
Converia Event Ticketing
Converia GmbH
Kaufstraße 2-4
99423 Weimar
Congress Secretariat: ecda26@express.converia.de
The time limit begins upon receipt of this notice in writing, but not before the contract is concluded and not before the organiser has fulfilled its information obligations in accordance with Article 246(2) in conjunction with Section 1(1) and (2) of the Introductory Act to the German Civil Code (EGBGB), as well as the obligations under Section 312g(1), first sentence, of the German Civil Code (BGB) in conjunction with Article 246(3) of the EGBGB. To comply with the withdrawal period, it is sufficient to dispatch the notice of withdrawal in good time.
Consequences of withdrawal:
In the event of a valid cancellation, the services received by both parties must be returned and any benefits derived (e.g. interest) must be surrendered. If the participant is unable to return the service received and any benefits derived (e.g. benefits of use), or is only able to do so in part or in a deteriorated condition, they must compensate the organiser for the loss in value to that extent. Any obligation to refund payments must be fulfilled within 30 days. For the participant, this period begins when the notice of withdrawal is sent; for the organiser, it begins upon receipt of the notice.
End of the Cancellation Policy
++++++++++++++++++
- The right of withdrawal shall lapse prematurely if the organiser, with the participants’ express consent, commences the provision of services before the end of the withdrawal period, or if the participants themselves arrange for the provision of services.
- Changes, withdrawal/cancellation
- The organiser charges a processing fee of 20.00 euros for subsequent invoice amendments and rebookings.
- If a participant does not wish to attend the event, they must notify the organiser of their withdrawal from the contract by email (Congress Secretariat: ecda26@express.converia.de).
- In the event of withdrawal or cancellation before 15 August 2026, 50% of the participation fee will be refunded, subject to a processing fee of 20 euros
- In the event of withdrawal or cancellation before 6 September 2026, 20% of the participation fee will be refunded, subject to a processing fee of 20 euros.
- No refund will be given for cancellations made on or after 6 September 2026.
- If a registered participant is unable to attend the event for health reasons or due to an accident, they may nominate a substitute to take their place. The administration fee for the rebooking is 20.00 euros.
- The participant is only entitled to cancel for good cause. In such cases, no refund will be made.
- The contracting party reserves the right to prove that the costs incurred were lower.
- Services
- The scope of the contractual services provided in connection with the relevant event is set out in the relevant information documents, any registration forms that may be available, and the organiser’s confirmation of participation.
- The organiser reserves the right to make changes to the content of the event programme at short notice, insofar as this is necessary and does not restrict the scope of the event, and, in exceptional cases, to appoint a replacement speaker. Participants will be informed of any such changes in good time.
- Travel, accommodation and meals are not included in the event package, unless services of this kind are expressly listed in the event description. If a contracting party fails to make use of services that have been duly offered, either in whole or in part, this shall not give rise to any entitlement to a refund of the participation fee.
- There is no entitlement to the development of participant-specific solutions.
- Cancellation of the event / Changes to the schedule
- If the number of participants is too low, or for other urgent reasons, the organiser may postpone, cancel or merge the event with other events. This also applies to supporting and evening programmes.
- In the event of an event being cancelled, the organiser shall refund the payment made. The organiser may, in particular, cancel the event up to 10 days before it is due to start if the minimum number of participants specified in the event description is not reached. Postage costs and other additional charges shall only be refunded if the cancellation of the event is due to wilful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the organiser.
- In the event of a change of date, the participant is entitled to withdraw from the contract. The organiser undertakes to inform the contracting parties without delay via one of the contact details provided at the time of booking (by post, email, telephone, etc.), at its own discretion. The provision of such information shall be deemed sufficient. Any wasted travel expenses, hotel bookings, etc. will only be reimbursed by the organiser if the failure to inform the participant of the cancellation of the event was due to gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
- In the event of cancellation, the participation fee will be refunded in full within 14 days. The same applies if a participant withdraws for the reasons mentioned above.
- Copyright and other rights
- The presentations and event materials provided are protected by copyright and may only be used for personal purposes. Rights of use are only granted by means of an express written licence. Reproduction, distribution, adaptation or public communication of any kind is strictly prohibited and requires the organiser’s written permission.
- Audio and video recordings, as well as descriptions of the event or its results, whether in whole or in part, are not permitted.
- Visual material/photographs
- Participants in the event irrevocably and without remuneration consent, for all present and future media, to the organiser being entitled to produce, reproduce, broadcast or arrange for the broadcasting of image and/or sound recordings of them that go beyond the mere reproduction of a current affairs event, and to use such recordings in audiovisual media.
- Liability
- The organiser’s liability arising from contractual, quasi-contractual, statutory, tortious or any other legal grounds is excluded. Nor shall the organiser and its vicarious agents be liable for disruptions of any kind caused by circumstances beyond their control.
- The organiser shall only be liable for damages if the organiser or one of its vicarious agents has breached a material contractual obligation (cardinal obligation) in a manner that jeopardises the purpose of the contract, or if the damage is attributable to gross negligence or wilful misconduct on the part of the organiser or its vicarious agents. If the culpable breach of a principal contractual obligation is not due to gross negligence or wilful misconduct, the organiser’s liability shall be limited in amount to the foreseeable damage, up to a maximum of the participant fee; furthermore, liability for consequential and indirect damages is excluded.
- We accept no liability for damage occurring whilst travelling to and from the event venues, or for loss or accidents.
- Data Protection
- In principle, participants may visit the event website without providing any personal data. Personal data is only collected if the participant provides it of their own accord (e.g. when using the website’s services such as purchasing tickets or registering for the event, sending a message via the website, or registering as a user of the website). No other personal data is collected.
- The data collected from participants in connection with an event (e.g. when purchasing tickets or registering for an event) is stored, amended and transmitted by the organiser solely for the purposes of its own business operations. This is necessary for the performance of the contract (e.g. to control access to the event).
- By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, the participant declares: I consent to my personal participant data being stored by the organiser in machine-readable form and, for the purposes of organising the event, being collected, used, processed and displayed on the event’s list of participants, where it is publicly accessible to anyone. I may hide this information directly on the participant overview after registration or withdraw my consent at any time by emailing the organiser.
- Supplementary Provisions
- The organiser wishes to point out that, in addition to its own General Terms and Conditions, the General Terms and Conditions for the use of the Converia conference management and ticketing platform by participants, issued by Converia GmbH, also apply and thus form an integral part of the aforementioned provisions. These are available via the following link: AGB Converia.
- Final Provisions
- The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply, with the exception of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and other legal provisions which, by virtue of or in implementation of intergovernmental agreements or the legal provisions of supranational bodies, constitute German law, insofar as they are not of a mandatory nature. This also applies to claims arising from pre-contractual and post-contractual obligations, as well as statutory claims that co-exist with contractual, pre-contractual or post-contractual claims.
- Should any individual provisions of this contract be invalid or cease to be valid as a result of circumstances arising at a later date, the validity of the remainder of the contract shall remain unaffected. The invalid provisions shall be replaced by a provision that most closely reflects what the contracting parties would have intended had they considered the matter in question. The same shall apply to any omissions in this contract.
- The place of performance is the organiser’s registered office.
- The place of jurisdiction shall be the organiser’s registered office, insofar as permitted by law.
