General Terms and Conditions
By registering for and/or attending the DNA Repair Meeting on Physiological Causes and Consequences of Genome Instability 2026 (“the Meeting”), hosted by the German Society for DNA Repair (DGDR) and the DFG-funded Research Unit (FOR) 5504, taking place 7–9 September 2026 at University Hospital Cologne (Uniklinikum Köln), MTI Building, I agree to the following terms and conditions:
1) Registration and payment

Registration is completed only after successful payment (or confirmation of an agreed payment method, if applicable).

The organizers reserve the right to refuse or cancel a registration in justified cases (e.g., violation of the Meeting’s policies or Code of Conduct), with an appropriate refund where applicable.
2) Fee categories and DGDR membership rate

The DGDR member rate applies only to participants who are registered DGDR members at the time of registration.

Participants who wish to become DGDR members may apply for membership via the DGDR website (membership information: https://dgdr6.webnode.page/en/mitgliedschaft/). Membership approval/processing is handled by DGDR and may take time.
3) Abstract submission and programme

If I submit an abstract, I confirm that the information provided is accurate and that I have the right to submit the content.

Abstract review, acceptance for poster/talk, scheduling, and programme details are at the discretion of the organizing committee. The organizers may make changes to the programme, speakers, or session times when necessary.
4) Cancellation, refunds, and substitutions

I have read and will comply with the Cancellation Policy published on this website (see below).

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to simon.uszkoreit[at]uk-koeln.de.
5) Travel fellowship

DGDR Travel Fellowships (if offered) are awarded based on submitted abstracts and the applicable selection criteria. Submission does not guarantee funding.
6) Health, safety, and conduct

I agree to comply with all applicable safety instructions and house rules at University Hospital Cologne and within the MTI Building.

I acknowledge that participation in an in-person event involves inherent risks (including the risk of exposure to infectious diseases). I attend at my own discretion and accept responsibility for my own health and safety.
7) Liability

The organizers are not liable for personal injury, loss, theft, or damage to property, except where liability is mandatory under applicable law (e.g., intent or gross negligence).

The organizers are not liable for costs arising from changes to the programme, venue, format, or schedule.
8) Photography and recordings

The Meeting may be photographed or recorded for documentation and reporting purposes (e.g., meeting website, internal reports, DGDR/FOR5504 communication). If you do not wish to appear in such material, please contact simon.uszkoreit[at]uk-koeln.de or inform the registration desk on site where feasible.
9) Data protection

Personal data will be processed for the purpose of managing registration, participation, invoicing, and (if applicable) abstract handling, in accordance with applicable data protection law (GDPR) and the privacy information provided on this website.
10) Governing law
-
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The place of jurisdiction is Cologne, insofar as legally permissible.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email to simon.uszkoreit[at]uk-koeln.de. The effective date of cancellation is the date the email is received.
Refunds
- Until 31 March 2026 (23:59 CEST): 95% refund of the paid registration fee

01 April 2026 – 31 July 2026 (23:59 CEST): 75% refund of the paid registration fee

1 August 2026 – 31 August 2026 (23:59 CEST): 50% refund of the paid registration fee

From 1 September 2026 onward: no refunds
Substitutions
Substitutions are permitted at no additional charge (or: for a €[X] processing fee) up to 31 August 2026, provided the replacement attendee provides complete registration details. Please contact simon.uszkoreit[at]uk-koeln.de to arrange a substitution.
Event changes / force majeure
If the meeting is postponed, shortened, moved online/hybrid, or cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organizers’ reasonable control (e.g., official restrictions, severe weather, strikes, or other force majeure), registration fees may be refunded at the organizers’ discretion after deduction of non-recoverable costs, or transferred to a rescheduled date. The organizers are not responsible for additional costs incurred by attendees (e.g., travel or accommodation).
