DAVO Congress 10.-12.9.2026 at LMU Munich

This is the online platform for the submission of contributions and registration for the 32nd Congress of the German Middle East Studies Association (DAVO). The submission period has closed, and all submissions have been reviewed by independent reviewers. In mid-May, participants will receive an email notification informing them whether their submission has been accepted.

Registration for the DAVO Congress will be possible from 18 May 2026. Conference fees are as follows and include lunch on September 11 and 12, as well as coffee breaks throughout the conference:

Early-bird period: 18 May 2026 – 15 July 2026
DAVO members – standard: €190.00
DAVO members – reduced*: €90.00
Non-members – standard: €270.00
Non-members – reduced*: €140.00

Regular registration: 16 July 2026 – 6 September 2026
DAVO members – standard: €210.00
DAVO members – reduced*: €100.00
Non-members – standard: €290.00
Non-members – reduced*: €160.00

* Students, graduate students, and low-income individuals.

Participants presenting a paper must confirm their congress participation by registering no later than 7 June 2026. Only then will their contribution be included in the programme.

Participants who are not yet members of DAVO are invited to join the association. DAVO membership can be obtained here: https://davo1.de/membership. The annual membership fee is €30.00 standard or €10.00 reduced.

The conference program is currently being developed and is expected to be released in mid-July.

For Friday evening, 11 September 2026, we are organising a social gathering. Participation in the social gathering is free of charge; food and drinks must be paid for individually. To help us plan accordingly, please indicate your participation during registration.

Participants requiring childcare are kindly asked to contact us by email at davo2026@noi.fak12.uni-muenchen.de by 7 June 2026 at the latest, stating the age(s) of the child or children and the days/times needed. We will then assess which childcare options can be made available.
