General Terms and Conditions for the Lp(a)-Update 2026
General Terms and Conditions of KWHC GmbH(hereinafter: “KWHC”) for the purchase of congress and event tickets for events organized by KWHC as a service provider on behalf of an event organizer. With regard to participant registration for the scientific part of the event and the collection of participation fees, KWHC acts in the name and on behalf of the organizer.
For reasons of readability, gender-specific language is generally not used. All references apply equally to all genders, including non-binary gender identities.
Section A governs the general provisions, which shall always apply.
Section B shall additionally apply if tickets are purchased via means of distance communication (e.g. online).
Section C shall apply if tickets are purchased on site at the counter.
Section A: General Provisions
I. Scope of Application
The following terms and conditions apply to contracts for the sale of congress and event tickets (admission tickets) concluded exclusively through means of distance communication between the purchaser of congress and/or event tickets (the “Customer”) and KWHC.
In this context, KWHC acts as a commissioned service provider of the organizer and is therefore the direct contractual partner of the Customer.
Any confirmations by the Customer referring to their own general terms and conditions of business or purchase are hereby expressly rejected. Deviations from these General Terms and Conditions of KWHC shall only be valid if confirmed in writing by KWHC.
II. Registration and Conclusion of Contract
Registration for the event shall be made in writing or electronically using the registration procedure provided by the organizer.
The contract for participation shall only be concluded upon written confirmation of registration or upon issuance of an invoice by KWHC.
The organizer reserves the right to reject registrations without stating reasons, in particular if the maximum number of participants has been reached or if professional or event-related admission requirements apply.

III. Methods of Payment
The following methods of payment are available: credit card (American Express, Mastercard and Visa), bank transfer, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
The total price of the order, including any applicable fees and statutory value-added tax, shall be due for payment immediately.
Payment processing is carried out via the platform express.converia.de and the payment service provider secupay AG, Goethestr. 6, 01896 Pulsnitz.
IV. Cancellations
Irrespective of the provisions set out in Section B, I, a contractual right to cancel an order exists.

Cancellation is free of charge up to four weeks prior to the start of the event. After this date, no refund shall be granted.
The full ticket price shall also be payable if a registered Customer does not attend the event.
V. Changes / Cancellation of the Event
The organizer reserves the right to replace speakers, relocate or reschedule events, cancel events, or make changes to the program.
The organizer further reserves the right to cancel or terminate the event for important reasons (e.g. force majeure, official orders). In such cases, participation fees already paid shall be refunded; any further claims shall be excluded.
VI. Congress Badge and Admission Rules
Participation is personal and non-transferable.
Access to the event shall only be granted upon presentation of a valid congress badge, which must be worn visibly throughout the event.
Instructions issued by the organizer, security personnel, and the venue operator must be complied with.
VII. Liability
The organizer shall only be liable for damages caused by intent or gross negligence.
The organizer shall not be liable for the loss of or damage to personal belongings.
Participation in the event is at the Customer’s own risk.
VIII. Data Protection Information
KWHC is a company specializing, inter alia, in the planning, organization and execution of events of all kinds, in particular (medical-scientific) congresses, (scientific) conferences, general meetings, trade fairs, exhibitions, seminars, continuing education events and other commercial events. Events are conducted either by KWHC itself or supported by KWHC as a service provider for another organizer.
KWHC uses customer management software and processes the data collected during the registration process, which may include personal data, for the purposes of
(i) maintaining customer and business relationships,
(ii) documentation, and
(iii) complaint and quality management.
The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(a), (b) and (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Processing is always carried out in relation to the specific stated purposes.
Extensive precautions are taken when collecting data to protect your personal data. Your data will be treated confidentially, stored in a secure environment and protected against unauthorized access. Only authorized employees have access to the data.

IX. Image Recordings
By purchasing a ticket, the Customer agrees that photographic, film and/or audio recordings may be made of them as part of the audience. The Customer consents to the use of such recordings, in which they may be recognizable, for documentation, reporting and public relations purposes of the organizer.
Statutory rights of withdrawal and data protection rights remain unaffected.
The unauthorized use of photographic or other recording devices is prohibited. The deletion or destruction of recordings made using such devices may be required.
X. CME Credits & Attendance
In order to enable the awarding of CME credits by the relevant Medical Association, proof of participation in the event is required. This shall be carried out by the organizer through on-site scanning of the participant’s name badge.
XI. Third-Party Regulations (e.g. House Rules)
The purchase of a ticket entitles the holder to attend the respective event. Separate regulations of the venue operator, in particular house rules or cloakroom regulations, must be observed throughout the visit to the venue.
XII. Final Provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply.
The place of jurisdiction shall be the registered office of the organizer, insofar as legally permissible.
Should individual provisions of these terms and conditions be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
Pursuant to Directive 2013/11/EU, we inform you that the European Commission has established an online platform for the resolution of disputes (“ODR platform”) between traders and consumers.
The organizer is neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
Section B: Purchase of Tickets via Means of Distance Communication
Section B shall additionally apply to the purchase of congress and event tickets for events or parts of events via means of distance communication.
I. Right of Withdrawal
If the Customer is an entrepreneur within the meaning of Section 14 of the German Civil Code (BGB) and wishes to withdraw from the contract, the cancellation provisions set out in Section A, IV shall apply.
If the Customer is a consumer within the meaning of Section 13 BGB, the following right of withdrawal shall apply:

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen (14) days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period shall be fourteen (14) days from the date of conclusion of the contract.

by means of a clear written statement of your decision to withdraw from this contract.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your notice of withdrawal before the withdrawal period expires.
