EuroMIT, Young MitoScientist Forum 10th June, 2017
Young Mitoscientists’ Forum. Students, postdocs and junior clinicians attending EuroMIT 2017 are invited to participate in the EuroMIT pre-symposium, the Young Mitoscientists’ Forum (YMF), 10th of June 2017. The YMF provides an excellent opportunity to present your research to your peers in a relaxed atmosphere, via selected talks, an extended poster discussion and a mentoring session with invited speakers. The YMF program will include a get-together BBQ on the Saturday evening.
Short talks from abstracts give young mitoscientists the opportunity to give a talk in an international meeting to an audience with similar background and level of expertise in a more informal manner. You can be selected as a speaker by sending an abstract to EuroMIT2017 and wishing to give a talk. Speakers for YMF are selected from the abstracts that were not selected as speakers for EuroMIT.
Round Table Poster Session is a unique format to discuss about your research. All YMF participants are asked to prepare an A4 format of their poster and print out 10 copies. Posters will be discussed in a round table session and after the session you can collect your prints back. In YMF there will be no other poster session so you don't need to bring your big printout. By submitting an abstract for a poster during the registration for the main meeting and selecting to attend the YMF, your abstract is automatically chosen for the YMF as well.
In the Mentoring session, invited speakers will host a non-scientific session with discussion about career planning, publishing, etc. Participants are encouraged to join the conversation and ask questions.
Venue for YMF is at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, Joseph-Stelzmann-Str. 9b. https://www.age.mpg.de. BBQ party on Saturday evening will be held in the neighboring building CECAD, Joseph-Stelzmann-Str. 26. http://cecad.uni-koeln.de.
